Bib Aprons and Linen Services: The Hunt Textiles Difference

We know that companies rely on wholesale linen services and industrial launderers to both maintain the highest levels of everyday professionalism and to make their businesses go. And when quality matters, linen services and industrial launderers can rely on Hunt Textiles.

Take, for example, our line of wholesale bib aprons, built for jobs like high-paced kitchens where freshness and cleanliness levels cannot be compromised:

  • The apron ties are made from the same material as the main apron fabric. This both improves looks and helps reduce tangles.
  • The aprons feature bartack sewing at all stress points like neckstraps, pockets and ties, providing maximum strength and durability.
  • We use a 7.2 oz heavyweight Murata Air Jet Spun polyester fabric, with cotton-type look and feel. The fabric is durable, professional and can handle the most intense tasks.
  • The aprons feature a soil release finish, which improves removability of oil, dirt and stains, and ensures maximum cleanliness.

Our bib aprons also:

  • Come in either white and a variety of colors.
  • Feature extremely colorfast and bleachsafe fabric.
  • Suffer from little to no wrinkling when handled promptly.
  • Can arrive with or without pencil pockets.
  • Come in a 29×34 inch size, and large, ready-to-ship inventories.

Why? Because linen service clients expect their aprons to arrive in top shape and readiness, every time. The “Hunt Difference” is that we’ve understood and delivered this standard of excellence since 1977.

Microfiber Mops Improve Hospital Health Care

Here’s a way one of our wholesale linen products are helping reduce both costs and contamination in hospitals:

According to the Environmental Protection Agency,

Many floor cleaners used in hospitals contain harsh chemicals such as quaternary ammonium chlorides and butoxyethanol, which can be harmful to human health and the environment. To reduce the risk of cross-contamination for patients, conventional mopping techniques require janitors to change the cleaning solution after mopping every two or three room — meaning that cleaning solutions (including both chemicals and several gallons of water) are constantly being disposed of and replenished.

Microfiber Looped End Wet Mop

The answer, the EPA says, are microfiber mops—made from a dense polyester/polyamide fiber blend that can hold six times its weight in water. The human hair-thick fibers also attract dust, and can penetrate the tiny pores where dirt and germs hide in most floors. The mops are light and durable, easy to clean, and spread less contamination than regular cotton mops.

In fact, a study done at the University of California Davis Medical Center in Sacramento showed that microfiber mops reduce chemical use and disposal by 95 percent, reduce cleaning times for patient rooms, and reduce custodial staff injuries and workers’ compensation claims. Economic benefits included a 60 percent average lifetime cost savings for mops, and 20 percent labor savings each day.

At Hunt Textiles , we understand that contamination has absolutely no place in hospitals, and it’s our aim to reduce costs and ease life for those that use our products. Our cleaning products do everything possible to eliminate these problems. Our microfiber looped end wet mops:

  • Feature 80” polyester/20% polyamide blend
  • Outperform other conventional cotton, blended, and synthetic wet mops
  • Clean floors better and dry faster
  • Boast outstanding durability and color retention
  • Are energy efficient
  • Include bartacked double tailband

Bed Linens 101: Understanding Thread Counts

When it comes to thread counts in bed linens, bigger is better—right?

Both the definition behind and the attraction toward thread counts make sense — the term is simply a measurement of the number of both vertical and horizontal threads in a single square inch of fabric. More threads must then equal more comfort.

In limited ways, it’s true. Many high-end bed sheets on the market feature thread counts of up to 600. And those stiff, scratchy, newspaper-like wraps you’ve slept on at cheap roach motels were probably closer to 50.

But smarter sheet shoppers know that thread count numbers shouldn’t be the single relied-upon indicator for the comfort and softness you’re hoping for from your sheets.

Here are some other factors:

Ply — Take a thread, and twist it around another thread to form a single, double-thread. Make sense? That’s “Ply,” and it’s an important factor when it comes to understanding linens. One oft-cited example of how thread count numbers can be misleading revolves around ply: Do 300 thread count sheets contain 300 single-ply threads in that particular square inch? Or is it 150 double-ply threads?

Understanding what kind of ply you want actually leads to our next factor:

Thickness — Use fine, thin silk or cotton, and your sheets will likely be soft and smooth. Use a ball of yarn better left to your grandmother’s knitting (or a kitten’s playing), and, well, you can imagine what kind of sleep you’ll get. Most sheets quite obviously trend toward the finer end of the spectrum, but there is still measurable (and noticeable) variance in thread thickness. In the end, thinner equals higher thread counts and a lighter, more delicate fabric. Thicker threads increase durability, but can be much heavier and tend to lose that smoothness factor.

Material quality — You could probably find a way to jam 600 pine needles into a square inch, but the number alone wouldn’t translate to a comfortable sleep. Don’t get lost in numbers while overlooking simple factors like the quality of the material—and the quality of fabric treatment and finishing—you’ll be getting. Cotton, polyester and blends each feature their own sets of pros and cons—and each come in both high and low-quality forms. At Hunt, we use only the finest quality materials (and the most value-oriented and cost-effective—not that we’re bragging).

You…— are the bottom line. Everyone is different when it comes to the fickle science of sleep, and you’ll only truly know what’s best through experience (though we don’t recommend the pine needles). At Hunt, we (thankfully) provide an abundant array of different types of wholesale bed linens.
